Why Circuit Training?

lauren

Circuit training is a method of resistance training, or weight training, that maximizes the volume of work done in a short period of time.  It consists of performing multiple exercises on multiple body parts in a row with little rest in between exertions.

Long Term Benefits
Circuit training is a type of interval training. It is a great way to increase the body’s ability to burn calories when it is at rest. The heart rate goes up very high, returns to a lower, but still elevated state, and then goes up very high again. At no point during circuit training does the heart rate return to its resting rate. Circuit training, and interval training overall, increases the amount of oxygen that a person consumes post exercise, and therefore, increases the number of calories that a person burns throughout the day.

It can be used to achieve an increase in lean body mass and a decrease in weight.

Separate cardiovascular training is not necessary. All body parts are trained in one session, and therefore, exercisers do not need to work out everyday.

Fitness Competitions

My beautiful picture

So many of us have pondered whether entering a fitness, physique, bodybuilding or bikini competition is something they should do.  My response to that……HECK YA!!!  It’s an amazing journey of body transformations and lifestyle changes.  When done properly you can maintain a healthy, fit look even after competition.  The key is to select the right trainer that understands you and your body.

For many of us, you want to compete maybe once in your lifetime, to say you did it.  Absolutely!  Don’t let anything (or anyone) hold you back! It’s a tough road (don’t get me wrong) it is an demanding sport BUT anyone can do it!  It just takes drive, determination and dedication.  Oh and the right trainer, but I think I may have mentioned that already hehe.

So to those of you out there pondering whether to get involved in these types of competitions, contact us for a free consultation.  Don’t wait until next year or next month, heck don’t even wait until next week.  Trust me, you won’t regret it!
